The Armour of God

Today let’s do something a little bit different!

We have come to the different parts of the armour of God, and what they all are.

Rather than post questions, I am going to have you write out each of the following parts of the armour of God, and we’re going to take some time to consider what each means, and how we can make sure we make good use of every single bit! Yesterday’s passage encouraged us to put on the whole armour and so we need to think about it as a whole.

As you consider each one, think about the metaphor and what it represents, think about the armour it is and what it’s function is, and consider how equipped you feel in your own life with these things.

fasten on the belt of truth

put on the breastplate of righteousness

wear the shoes as readiness

take up the shield of faith

take the helmet of salvation

take the sword of the spirit

Prayers for Today

  • At the end of this passage for today, Paul encourages us to pray and make our requests known – praying for the saints and praying for Paul himself.  Let’s take his lead today, praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ, particularly those who, like Paul was, are in chains for the gospel.

Grace and Love
