Grace and Life {A Study in Ephesians}

Blog post headers

Welcome! Today we begin our summer Bible study on Ephesians. This a 7 week study and this week we will be spending most of our time looking at the context of the book of Ephesians among other things.

Here is a little taster of what you can expect:

  1. An overview of the book of Ephesians
  2. Daily readings and prompts/questions
  3. 3 blog posts per week expanding the themes and ideas of the book
  4. Key verses to meditate on and memorise

Taking part in this study is mostly done on a personal basis but I hope it gives us chance to connect with each other as well.  The great advantage of online Bible studies is the fact that we can “meet” with and connect with people from all over the globe! However, we do not need to be silent partners, and there will be plenty of opportunities on this blog and my Facebook page to discuss, throw around ideas, ask and answer questions and make new connections!

Here are some questions you might have as we start:

  • How will this study work?

Each week day, there will be a post on this blog for you to follow. So as not to miss out, it might be a good idea to sign up for email updates. If you prefer to keep informed via Facebook (click to go there), then the same information will be shared there…be sure to follow my page and check you are getting notifications!

There will be daily questions or prompts to help you to dig into the word. You can share your ideas through the blog comments, or through Facebook comments.

  • How big a commitment is this?

I am a working mum, with two young children and a husband to attend to. I teach Sunday School in my church and have plenty of hobbies and activities to keep me busy. So I get it. So many of us have busy lives. This means the study is designed to give you a manageable chunk each day to chew over.

We will take weekends off because Sundays will be taken up with our own Churches. It also gives you the chance to reflect on the previous week.

Like most things in life, it is what you make it.

So with all this in mind, let’s begin today by considering what we want to get out of this study. Start by setting yourself some goals.  Here are some things you could consider:

  • Will you take this as an opportunity to start or develop a new habit or discipline, such as rising early to study, or keep a journal, or take part in online discussions?
  • Are you hoping to increase your Bible knowledge?
  • Will you be learning the key verses and improving your scripture memorisation?
  • Are you hoping to develop your Bible study skills?

I am so glad you are here with my on this journey. It is my sincerest prayer that this is a blessing to you!

Grace and Love
