Messy Beautiful Love {A New Book by Darlene Schacht}

You live and learn.  I guess that’s what they say.  But there’s something discouraging about that isn’t there?  Undertones of blunders and mistakes and you can’t help but say it with a *sigh*.

And I guess we do.  We are all a bit broken and we’re all a bit messy.

I just don’t think we have to live and learn.  I think we can do it the other way round.  We can learn.  And we can live.

Now, wait, wait, wait a minute.  I’m not meaning we live flawless lives.  We never will.  But through the power of God’s word, and the testimony of those who know and love Him, we can do a whole lot of learning so that when we come to the living, we are underpinning our chances of success.  And there’s some hope that amongst that, the blunders and mistakes are fewer, the sighs and feelings of failure are less apparent.  We continue to work towards living the lives the Lord has planned for us with joy in our step and wisdom in our hearts.

I came across the writer Darlene Schacht amongst a sigh.  Amongst a moment of feeling that I didn’t know what on earth I was doing.  But a feeling that there was something more. That there was something God had designed for me…I just couldn’t seem to grasp it.  There I was.  A wife, a mother with two wonderful, but very little children, only sixteen months apart, and suddenly crushingly overwhelmed with the feeling that I can’t do this!  I don’t know HOW to do this!

Reading Darlene’s book ‘The Good Wife’s Guide’ was an incredibly challenging time in my life.  There were moments when I had to put the book down and walk away from it.  It was so strongly speaking to my heart, giving me advice, and practical wisdom.  I felt like I had answers for the first time in such a long time.  They weren’t easy answers, but they were godly answers.

And here I am, many months on, excited to be on the launch team for Darlene Schacht’s new book, ‘Messy Beautiful Love: Hope and Redemption for Real Life Marriages’.

I’m excited because Darlene is a writer after God’s own heart.  I’m excited because I have so much still to learn, so much more wisdom to glean, and so many more practicalities to work out in my life.

Over the next few weeks, I will be reading and reviewing the book, which will be made available to the public on September 16th.  You can pre-order the book now, and get a whole host of freebies along with it.  Click on the picture below and it will take you to more details.
